Join us on June 24th at the Leominster Eagles for a day of fun.  Even if you don't play darts, they'll be outside activities such as corn hole, food and amazing raffles.  We'll have a karate master on hand from 11:30am-1:00pm, teaching people of all ages and abilities how to break boards.  Don't miss it!!

Past Paper Pollinator Collage

Join us at the Leominster Public Library on September 21 from 6:15-7:15.  We will be having  a reception to celebrate the colorful pollinator collage that our Beacon artists created out of the paste paper they made this past spring with local artist, CM Judge.  This project was sponsored in part by a grant from the Leominster Cultural Council supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

What is Paste Paper?

Paste paper is made by boiling cornstarch and water until it is thick and then, mixing it with acrylic paint.  Wet a sheet of paper and brush on the paste mixture.  Using a variety of tools like combs, rings and found objects, create marks on the paper by dragging these implements across the surface.  Let the paint dry and, voila, you have a beautiful color paper to use in creating a variety of masterpieces.  We used ours to create a paste paper
